What The Neurodivergent Collective Offers

  • Opportunities to interact and meet other neurodivergent people

  • To be with others and in places that I feel comfortable being myself

  • To be a part of a growing community of neurodivergent people

  • To be able to contribute ideas to future events or activities

  • The ability to come drop by events and leave when I want to

  • Having event facilitators that I can utilize as a resource if I have questions or concerns during the event

What The Neurodivergent Collective Does NOT Do

  • We do not offer supervision or staff support at events or meetups

  • We do not offer mental health, ABA or other services

  • We are not a counseling or therapy program

  • We cannot assist a person in crisis

  • We are not a program under the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services


FAQ Section

Who can attend?

Anyone over the age of 18 and who has a neurodivergency (ADHD, dyslexia, Autism, etc.) is welcome to attend.

Is there a cost to attend?

  • There is no cost to attend events.

  • There may be events where members may be asked to pay a small amount if they want to participate in something extra like having pizza at an event.

  • Members are required to cover their own costs if it is a meetup in the local community. For example, buying their own movie ticket at a movie meetup event.

Location

Events will be held at the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services.

100 Dudley Rd. New Brunswick, NJ 08901

Meetups will be held in a location specified that is in Central NJ.

Transportation

No transportation is provided to or from events or meetups. The member must be able to get to or from the meetup or event. This could be by Uber, car, walking, or possibly bus or Access Link.

Parking

There are regular and accessible parking spots right next to the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services for events held here. Please see the map for a visual of where the parking is located.

If there is a meetup in Central NJ, the address will be posted and parking availability will be communicated.

Animals

Emotional Support Animals and Service Animals are welcome. No pets are allowed at events or meetups. Please contact ed700@rcaas.rutgers.edu if you are planning on bringing your ESA or Service Animal so we are aware.

Registration

Members will be emailed upcoming event or meetup sign-up forms. Members must RSVP by signing up for each individual event or meetup they would like to attend.

Support Needs

The Neurodivergent Collective recognizes the wide range of support needs people may have. We cannot provide supervision and direct support staffing at our events. We welcome people who have high support needs, intellectual disabilities, or are nonverbal.

If you are someone who for any reason may need additional support or assistance at an event, you will need to bring a friend, family member, or support staff to assist you.
